Former domestic abuser: I'm 'lucky' my wife stayed by me
The wife of NFL player, Ray Rice, has made headlines for standing by him, after he was suspended by the Baltimore Ravens for punching her.
CCTV footage appeared to show Rice hitting his wife Janay in a lift, but she said she was "hurt beyond words" that the job had been taken away from the man she "loved".
Reacting to the incident, one caller, Roy, from Newcastle, told Sam Walker he was "so lucky" his wife stood by him after he had physically abused her for 20 years.
"I gave her a black eye. I would scream abuse at her," he said. "That has changed and I live with regret every day of my life now".
In a statement, the NFL said they had not seen the video during their investigation.
This clip is originally from Sam Walker on Wednesday 10 September 2014.
