Watch: Bomb cyclone hits parts of the US with heavy snow
A powerful storm system called a "bomb cyclone" brought blizzard conditions to parts of the upper Midwest and East Coast causing some travel delays.
The system continues to threaten the East Coast with frigid temperatures and high winds.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a bomb cyclone is marked by a decrease in atmospheric pressure over 24 hours causing the storm to rapidly intensify.
