Skiers take advantage of snowy hills amid cold snap

The path to the summit of Moel Famau in Denbighshire's Clwydian Range is usually popular with walkers - but Josh Brunning, along with his wife, Fiona, and a friend took advantage of the recent cold snap to ski down it.

"It was a unique experience," said Josh, adding the path to Bwlch Pen Barras car park had 1ft (30cm) of "powdery" snow in places on Monday 5 January.

"It's special to be able to live in north Wales and get to ski," he added.

Josh also managed to ski near his home in Llandegla, Denbighshire, last winter as well as in Eryri, also known as Snowdonia.

"It's brilliant, especially when there are not that many places in UK that you can do that," said the firefighter.
