Chain of hardware shops to close

A chain of hardware shops has announced it is closing.

Coopers posted on its website that its branches across Suffolk and Norfolk would cease trading on Saturday at 15:00 BST.

The company, which has a head office in Worlingham, near Beccles, was founded in 1938 as a business in Great Yarmouth.

Stores have operated in Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth, Harleston, Leiston and Framlingham.

On its website, Coopers said it would be running a half-price sale in stores until Saturday's closure.

It is unclear if the company will continue operating online. It has been approached for comment.
