Two men charged with 130 vehicle theft crimes
West Midlands PoliceTwo men have been charged with 130 vehicle theft offences across the West Midlands.
Steven Swinburn, 28, and Liam Smith, 24, have been charged with conspiracy to steal, following thefts or attempted thefts of vehicles in a seven-month spree across Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, and Staffordshire.
It comes after officers arrested the two men and Mr Smith's mother, Emma Smith, in the All Saints and Low Hill areas of Wolverhampton on Wednesday. Ms Smith, 45, was charged with handling stolen goods and bailed to appear at Dudley Magistrates' Court on 8 January.
The two men are expected to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Friday.
West Midlands Police said vehicle crimes has fallen by nearly 15% in the last year.
