Fly-tipper fined for dumping furniture in car park
East Devon District CouncilResidents have been reminded to dispose of unwanted items responsibly after a fly-tipper was fined for leaving furniture in a car park.
East Devon District Council said it had fined a person £200 after they had been proved to have dumped a flat-pack wardrobe, desk, chest of drawers and a sofa in Orchard Car Park in Seaton.
The council said it had received photos and information about the fly-tipping from a member of the public.
Councillor Geoff Jung urged residents to dispose of waste responsibly by using licensed waste carriers and recycling centres and to report issues to the council promptly.
Jung said: "Fly-tipping is a serious offence with a damaging impact on our towns and communities and with evidence.
"We will act swiftly to hold offenders to account."
