Police have appealed for information after an attempted ram-raid at a convenience store.

Northamptonshire Police said the Co-op in Cheyne Walk, Wellingborough, was targeted at about 05:50 GMT when a Volvo car was used to smash the front window of the shop.

Following the collision, the car caught fire causing significant damage to both the vehicle and the outside of the store.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the car reversing into the premises.
