The front-of-house team at a theatre are stepping in to fill a gap in the schedule with their own show.

Staff at the Royal and Derngate in Northampton were given the chance following their viral success on social media platform TikTok.

Their performance of The Show Must Go... On? will be staged on Friday, 17 October, in place of another show that was cancelled.

Director Jodie Kindell said it was exciting to be asked and they all "jumped at the opportunity".

It is written, produced, choreographed and performed entirely by the theatre's front-of-house team.

Choreographer Imogen Burn said: "All of the rehearsals have had to be slotted around all the shift times."

She added the lack of preparation time would bring "that fresh excitement to the show".

The front-of-house team's TikTok account has attracted more than 130,000 followers, with some videos being viewed more than eight million times.

The account features videos of the team performing dance routines or skits in and around the Royal and Derngate.

Elizabeth Clancy has appeared in some of the videos and said it was hard to imagine the account getting so much traction.

"Even now I still forget and pinch myself", she said.
