Cyclist in hospital after being hit by vehicle

A cyclist was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

West Midlands Police said it was called to Charter Avenue's junction with Freeburn Causeway, in Coventry, at 17:50 GMT on Friday.

The driver remained at the scene after the cyclist, a 21-year-old man, was hit, officers said.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
