Kent County Council says Sittingbourne Library will close on 3 November

Sittingbourne Library will be closed temporarily to carry out refurbishment works to improve community support services, says Kent County Council.

The council said the revamp also included new furniture and a refreshed layout so visitors could have more space for reading, studying and other activities.

The local authority said a new family hub would be set up for parents to find support, advice and group activities for children, alongside health visiting appointments.

Paul Webb, cabinet member for community and regulatory services, said this was an "exciting project for Sittingbourne".

"It will make a real difference for local people, enabling them to access more services they need from one building," he added.

The council said Sittingbourne Library would close on 3 November and was expected to reopen in early 2026.
