Dangerous driving arrest after three hurt in crash
GoogleThree people were seriously injured in a crash on Christmas Eve.
Merseyside Police was called to the East Lancashire Road at its junction with Stonebridge Lane in Croxteth in Liverpool just before 20:40 GMT where a black Ford Puma and a grey Audi A4 were involved in a collision.
The 33-year-old male driver of the Ford Puma was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition. A 34-year-old woman and a young boy were also taken to hospital with serious injuries, the force added.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 32 year-old man from Liverpool, suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Det Sgt Simon Duffy said: "This was a devastating incident that has left a man with life-threatening injuries and a young boy and woman in hospital when they should be at home enjoying their Christmas Day.
He appealed for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the East Lancashire Road near the M57 or anyone who noticed a dark coloured Audi saloon driving in the area of the East Lancashire Road near the M57 area to get in touch.
