Footie tricks to learn at home
If you fancy yourself as the next Lionel Messi or Lucy Bronze then you've come to the right place! Freestyle guru John Farnworth has some top tips to help you perfect your footie skills in the garden or yard whilst you are stuck at home. Make sure you have lots of space and nothing is breakable, grab a ball, and let's go!
Skill one: Kick ups

Kick ups are one of the basic skills you need to learn to be a freestyle pro!
Start by dropping the ball on your foot and work your way up to eventually chipping it up off the ground. Remember to keep your touch of the ball light to keep it under control.
Skill two: Rocket launcher

This move is exclusive to the BP website! So if you want a cool way to flick the ball up into the air, then the rocket launcher is the trick for you.
Pop the ball between your ankles, squeeze tight and flick up as you jump. You can throw in some kick ups if you are feeling confident!
Skill three: Neck stall

Freestyle football is all about showing off your silky skills, and the neck stall is one of the ultimate ways to show your fancy moves off to the max!
This tricky move requires great control of the ball as you keep it balanced behind your head. Give it a go if you think you've got the skills!
Skill four: Knee grab

Our fourth skill is the knee grab, this is a relatively simple move that looks epic and will allow you to build up some combos of the other skills you have learned.Â
Once you've perfected the knee grab you will definitely be able to do some more complex moves.
Skill five: Around the world

The final skill is perhaps the best known, and one of the more difficult freestyle moves there is...The around the world!
This trick will require a lot of practice as you take the ball from the basic kick up and move your foot around the whole ball... hence the name 'around the world'! If you can master this move then you are on your way to becoming the master of freestyle football!
