East Pool Mine
Visitors to East Pool Mine can learn about the history of mining in the local area and see two great beam engines, originally powered by high-pressure steam boilers introduced by local hero Richard Trevithick. The pumping engine is one of the largest surviving Cornish beam engines in the world. The restored winding engine is not currently working; it is undergoing some much needed conservation work to get it back in action.
