She says: "I wrote this song about a year ago, even though it's quite sad sounding I like to think of it as a cute happy song. It's about that phase you go through, when you're just starting to like somebody and you just wanna be around them all the time and they can't do anything wrong. A couple of months later, I wrote a song with much darker lyrics! Ha ha ha."

We say: It may be very early days for this young singer from the Maiden City, but with that there's no doubting the ludicrous potential. While 'Stay Awake' is a great introduction to her unique voice and creativity as a songwriter, her Facebook page is worth a nosey for some brilliant curious cover versions of Temper Trap, Gnarls Barkley and - of all people - Britney Spears.
