Police warn people on paramilitary list
The PSNI unit will work closely with the Prison Service
Police in Northern Ireland have set up a special unit to warn people whose personal details were found on documents linked to intelligence gathering material during raids in Belfast last week.
A police statement warned the information was in the hands of paramilitary organisations. It is understood the officers in the unit will be working closely with the prison service. It emerged earlier this week that the personal details, including names and address of hundreds of prison officers, had been found during the raids. It is believed a large quantity of documents was seized in the searches that took place in north and west Belfast last Friday. |
