Geoffrey Hughes leads the Liverpool Nativity cast as the Angel Gabriel in a contemporary retelling of the Christmas story, live on the streets of Liverpool. The Liverpool Nativity will be shown live this Sunday on BBC Three at 8pm.

The brightest children from poor families are being overtaken by the least clever from rich families according to new research by The Sutton Trust. The study found that parental background still overwhelmingly determines educational success and there has been no change at all in social mobility in the UK since 1970.

Eczema
The National Institute for Clinical Excellence has published guidance on managing eczema in children from 0-12 years. The report criticises 'high street' allergy tests and urges caution in turning to complementary medicine.
Christie's
The auction house will be holding its Magnificent Jewels sale in London today which is expected to fetch in excess of £7million. Lots include Marie Antoinette's pearls and Hayley Mills' jewellery.
Kelly Clarkson
The international superstar is returning to the UK for the first time since her sold-out UK tour in 2006. The eight date tour kicks off in Manchester on 14 March 2008.
Leane Jones
Plucked from 'obscurity' in a bank call centre, Leanne Jones has taken the West End by storm with her performance in the hit musical, Hairspray. You can catch Leane and the rest of the Hairspray cast at London's Shaftesbury Theatre.

Diabetes
Diabetes UK says that 750,000 people are living with diabetes without knowing it. A special centre is opening in Hull today, dedicated to testing and counselling for diabetes: it is thought over 7,000 people in the city are undiagnosed.
Falklands
Tony Groom spoke to Breakfast last April about his experiences as a diver during the Falklands war. Nine months later, Tony has published his story, "Diver" which is in the shops this Saturday.
Tom Chambers
The actor who plays Sam Strachan returns to Holby City in tonight's episode. Tom talked to us about his character's determination to keep working after being diagnosed with cancer. Holby City is on tonight at 8pm on BBC One.

Britain is becoming a nation of "bump-and-run" drivers, with almost 10 per cent of motorists admitting to crashing into parked cars and speeding away, according to a Direct Line survey.

Campaigners around the world will be marking the tenth anniversary of the Ottawa landmine ban treaty today. More than 120 nations signed the treaty which outlaws the production and use of the weapons and over three quarters of countries in the world are now signatories.
