In winning the accolade she beat shortlisted contenders Kate Moss, Jade Goody and Heather Mills McCartney.

Jordan has two children - four-year-old Harvey and one-year-old Junior. She is now expecting another baby with her husband, singer Peter Andre.

"I'm so pleased to receive this award. Harvey and Junior will be so proud of their mummy," she said.

Respect and admiration

Young Harvey, whose father is footballer Dwight Yorke, was born with a growth disorder and is partially blind.

On New Year's Eve he was rushed to hospital after he was scalded, having climbed into an empty bath and turned on the hot tap.

The Celebrity Mum of the Year award, sponsored by Grattan, has previously been won by Kerry Katona and Sharon Osbourne.

"The general public showed in their voting just how much they respect and admire her as a mother," said Grattan boss Mike Hancox.
