Where I Live website
The Where I Live website is the first of five
A new BBC website exclusively for people living in and interested in north east Wales has gone live.

The Where I Live site for north east Wales is the first of five local websites to be launched by BBC Wales.

The second Where I Live site which will cover south west Wales is planned to launch this spring.

This will be followed shortly by south east Wales and two more local sites covering mid Wales and north west Wales.

These sites are designed to bring BBC Wales closer to local communities, and as well as offering a comprehensive news service providing local information.

Internet users

Entertainment, sports news, business information and consumer guides are also a key part of the Where I Live service to internet users across Wales.

"There are major possibilities to extend local services and daily dialogue with internet users," said a BBC spokesman.

"We have to find as many new forms of interactivity as we can."

"Our homes are dominated by global brands and we want to satisfy the desire for local knowledge, both in radio and television and new media."

BBC research has revealed that audiences feel that "localness" is important.
