Education officials in the Highlands have praised pupils for their continued success in exam results.
Youngsters from Highland Council's 29 secondary schools joined thousands from across Scotland in receiving their grades on Tuesday.
The council said one pupil gained six Highers at band A, while another 47 gained five Highers at the same grade.
It said its analysis was based on raw data received from the Examination Board.
The performance of boys in S4 continued to improve at Foundation and General level while girls still do better than boys at Credit level, said the council.
However, overall the gender gap between the performance of boys and girls was narrowing at the fourth year stage.
Donnie MacDonald, head of education services said: "From the initial analysis these results show that pupils in Highland continue to do well in comparison with national figures and other comparator authorities."
