Smuggled goods on display in city
Reptile bag and shoes
Reptile bags and shoes will be on display at the stall in Ingliston
A giant green turtle shell, rhino horns, a crocodile handbag, carved ivory and examples of smuggling devices are to go on display in Edinburgh.

Visitors to Truckfest at Ingliston will have the chance to see a wide range of smuggled items seized by HM Revenue and Customs in its fight against crime.

People will able to see the things they should avoid bringing home from holiday as souvenirs.

The event runs from from 0900 to 1800 BST this weekend.

Liz Challand, national exhibitions officer for HMRC, said: "We hope visitors to the show will find it interesting to learn more about our work and our success in fighting organised crime such as drug, alcohol and cigarette smuggling, illegal importations, money laundering and tax fraud."

Customs staff will also be on hand to provide advice on the quantities of cigarettes and alcohol that can legally be brought back into the UK from abroad.

Information on the type of souvenirs that are banned or restricted will also be available, including items made from animals or animal products and details of food products likely to be confiscated.
