Fatal virus killed off attraction
Abbey Park, Leicester
Abbey Park in Leicester will be reintroducing rabbits this week
A mystery virus which struck at a popular visitor attraction in Leicester has been eradicated.

The virus swept through Pets Corner in Abbey Park, killing 20 of the 32 rabbits at the park. The pets' area had to be closed to the public.

But after extensive measures to get rid of any trace of the virus, including destroying their old wooden cages, the park's managers are ready to reopen.

The remaining 12 rabbits will be back on show from Tuesday.
