Cornwall's leadership in renewable energy was praised
Cornwall is leading the way with renewable and sustainable energy, according to a government minister.

Energy Minister Stephen Timms made his comments during a visit to the county on Wednesday.

He was in Cornwall to launch the county energy strategy which he says will be a lead for others to follow.

Mr Timms says Cornwall, which already has wind farms and could be using wave power in the near future, is a good example for others.

He said: "This is a strategy for Cornwall and it's a model for what we're going to see in other places in the UK.

"In fact, the energy partnership in Cornwall has already been a model for what Ken Livingstone has been doing in London.

"I welcome the leadership Cornwall's been showing for some time now in this area and I think today's launch is an important step forward in that work."
