Couple wed at railway station
The Palmers hope to honeymoon on a train as well
Tony and Adrienne Palmer are mad about trains, so they tied the knot in a railway station.
The couple were married on Thursday at the Wansford Signal Box in the Nene Valley in Cambridgeshire, with a station master acting as best man. They cited their love for trains, the character and the atmosphere as the reason for choosing the unusual venue. "This is my church, the railways; it's my first love", Mrs Palmer said. "It's the smell, and the steam", the groom added. "It's nostalgia, isn't it?" Tony Palmer said he loves the station, which was built in 1907. Following the wedding, the couple hosted a reception in a railway station. The newlyweds said they have begun saving up for a dream honeymoon on the Orient Express. |
