Wasp sting kills businessman
Bee
Bee and wasp stings can prove fatal
A businessman died after being stung by a wasp at a family party, an inquest on the Isle of Wight has heard.

The insect stung Victor Leslie, 57, from Ventnor while he was eating an ice cream at the barbeque last weekend.

Coroner's officer David Webb confirmed Mr Leslie had died after being stung by the wasp.

However, Mr Webb said it had not been established whether Mr Leslie had suffered an allergic reaction and ordered further medical tests to be carried out.

It is believed Mr Leslie's widow Pat unsuccessfully gave her husband the kiss of life after he collapsed shortly after being stung.

Mr Leslie who had two children owned an amusement games business on the island.

The inquest was adjourned until the results of the tests were known.
