Chris Hollins jumps for joy
Chris takes the plunge
Sport Relief 2006 is being launched this morning and on Breakfast we're doing our bit with our sports presenter Chris Hollins and business presenter Declan Curry both signing up.

The theme of this year's Sport Relief appeal is Going the Extra Mile. Chris decided to jump out of a plane, from a mile high, Declan Curry will be attempting to cycle round his home patch - the City's Square Mile

Chris says that once was enough for him!

On Breakfast we also spoke to Steve Cram who is am ambassador for Sport Relief

Steve stressed that you really don't have to sky dive or ride the mile - as long as you cover the distance you can do it in whatever way you wish.

And he explained how the money helped those in poor or deprived communities to enjoy sport - and how events sponsored by the charity bring people together.

Declan donned his cycling gear for his City ride

The mile is the fundraising mechanism, of this year's Sport Relief. So people pay to enter and then raise some sponsorship.

Participants will get one red sock when they sign up and the other one when they complete the event. Last year Sport Relief raised more than £16 million

Later this morning Sport Relief will be launched in Trafalgar Square by Davina Chris Evans, Patrick Kielty, Kirsty Gallagher and Sally Gunnell amongst others.
