Change in scallop dredging rules
New rules on the size of nets used to dredge for scallops in Jersey waters came into force on Thursday.

The change to existing regulations is part of the Granville Bay fishing agreement signed between Jersey, France and the UK.

The size of the rings that make up the scallop dredge will change, with the new rules applying equally to French and Jersey fishermen.

New maximum fines also came into force with the rules.
