Simon Cowell and his judges are planning to go back to Scotland

X Factor hopefuls may have to sing for a second time in front of judges, because of the new format of auditions. Simon Cowell said he wants participants to perform in front of a live audience, just as they do on his other show Britain's Got Talent. However, auditions have already been held in Glasgow, so the show will have to return to Scotland to reshoot. An X Factor spokeswoman said: "It does look like everyone who auditioned will come and audition again." 'Bigger and better' This the first year that the ITV show has changed the audition format. Previous series have seen wannabes perform for the judges, who decide whether to send them to the next stage, dubbed boot camp.

We are still fine tuning our plans, but we aim to be back up in Scotland at the end of the month

The show's spokeswoman said the new format was all part of making the programme "bigger and better than ever". She added: "We are still fine tuning our plans, but we aim to be back up in Scotland at the end of the month. "We are working out how we are going to do it, but it does look like everyone who auditioned will come and audition again." Fans have already been speculating in online forums about what the reshoot could mean for people who have already sung for the judges. One person said their friend, who auditioned in Glasgow recently, was supposed to be on holiday in July and was concerned they might miss the reshoot. "Do they have to audition again and possibly have their place taken away from them? Will the funny acts who were bought along to be made a fool of, be happy to do it a second time?" Another wrote they had been told call back letters were taking longer than usual because "they are changing some no's to yes's". Cowell, Louis Walsh, Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole will return to judge the singers again this year. Cole's act Alexandra Burke won the show last year with boyband JLS coming second.
