Mariah Carey has received four nominations for the American Music Awards on the back of her hit comeback album The Emancipation of Mimi.
She leads the field ahead of rock band Green Day, American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson and rapper 50 Cent, who have three nominations each.
Carey is up for favourite female and favourite album in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B categories.
The Emancipation of Mimi has sold three million copies in the US.
Her single We Belong Together recently enjoyed a 14-week reign at the top of the US singles chart.

The nominations are the latest steps in the singer's revival, three years after her film Glitter flopped and she was dumped by record company EMI.
She is up against Clarkson and Gwen Stefani to be named best pop/rock female and faces Ciara and Fantasia for the soul/R&B award.
Clarkson also challenges Carey in the best pop/rock album category, which is completed by Green Day's American Idiot.
50 Cent is nominated for best male on both the pop/rock and rap/hip-hop shortlists and is also up for best rap/hip-hop album for The Massacre.
Acts with two nominations include Eminem, The Black Eyed Peas, Destiny's Child, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Gretchen Wilson and Fantasia.
Nominees are determined by radio airplay and sales. Winners will be chosen from a poll of 20,000 US music fans and announced in November.
