Former Afghan presidential candidate Dr Abdullah Abdullah has opposed plans from President Karzai for reintegrating Taliban members into society.
He told the BBC he supported the idea of the conference, but what had come out of it was "too ambitious" and the Taliban's response was "as cool as you can imagine".
