Dame Anita started The Body Shop in 1976 despite having no training or experience. In 1984 the company went public. There are now 2,010 stores in 12 time zones across the world.
Though she no longer sits on executive committees, she spends most of her time sourcing new products during her travels abroad and working as part of the company's creative team.
Dame Anita believes businesses have the power to do good, which is why The Body Shop uses its products to help communicate human rights and environmental issues.
In the Queen's most recent Birthday Honours List in June, she was made a dame for her services to business.
