When BBC presenter Jill Dando was shot dead on the doorstep of her home in London nine years ago, the Metropolitan Police launched its biggest murder inquiry to find her killer.
This is how the story unfolded.
26 April 1999 Jill Dando, 37, is shot dead with a single bullet to the head at point blank range outside her home in Fulham in south west London.
She had been returning from her fiancé Alan Farthing's house in Chiswick.
18 May 1999 A BBC Crimewatch reconstruction of the presenter's last moments is televised along with an E-fit of a suspect.

25 May 2000 Police arrest Barry George, also known as Barry Bulsara, on suspicion of murder after a surveillance operation.
The 40-year-old lived alone in a flat less than half a mile away from Ms Dando's home.
29 May 2000 Police charge Barry George with murder.
26 February 2001 The trial of Barry George begins. He denies murder.
During the proceedings the jury are told George is obsessed with fame and guns.
The defendant continues to maintain his innocence. The defence suggests a Serbian hitman could have shot her in a revenge attack after Miss Dando fronted an appeal for Kosovan refugees.
2 July 2001 Barry George is convicted of Jill Dando's murder after a single speck of gunpowder residue found on his coat links him to the crime. He is sentenced to life in prison.
29 July 2002 George loses an appeal against his conviction. Judges reject claims that evidence used to convict him was "flimsy".
16 December 2002 The House of Lords refuses Barry George permission to let him take his appeal to a higher court.
25 March 2006 Barry George's solicitor says he has new evidence which undermines the safety of his client's conviction.
20 June 2007 Barry George wins the right to a fresh appeal after the Criminal Cases Review Commission says too much weight was placed on a tiny amount of forensic evidence - a speck of firearms residue - in the trial.
15 November 2007 Barry George's conviction is quashed and a retrial is ordered after the Court of Appeal finds the original conviction was unsafe.
14 December 2007 Barry George pleads not guilty at his retrial for Jill Dando's murder.
1 August 2008 Barry George is found not guilty of Jill Dando's murder.
